Summer Holiday Surf Program – Operating Dates & Times

We’re running a total of 4 weeks of surf coaching throughout the Queensland Christmas school holidays. Designed for surfers looking to build upon their current skill level in a social environment.

Intermediate Junior Surfers Ages: 8 - 12

Tuesdays & Thursdays – 6:30am to 8:15am

  • Week 1: Dec 16, 18

  • Week 2: Jan 6, 8

  • Week 3: Jan 13, 15

  • Week 4: Jan 20, 22

Intermediate level requirement: This class involves both in the water guiding and coaching along with land-based filming and coaching when the waves are small. Surfers need to be able to paddle back out to the coach on their own when the surf is small. Other skills required: Turtle role or duck diving – no board ditching for safety. Can pop up & turn. We’ll teach the rest! If your child is not up to this level we offer private lessons to help fast-track their progression until they’re ready to benefit from a group lesson.

Advanced Junior Surfers Ages: 11 - 15

Wednesdays & Fridays – 6:30am to 9am

  • Week 1: Dec 17, 19

  • Week 2: Jan 9, 12

  • Week 3: Jan 16, 19

  • Week 4: Jan 23, 26

Advanced level requirement: You definitely don’t need to shred(!) however you must be able to look after yourself in the surf and catch your own waves as classes are filmed and coached from land with no in the water assistance.

    Location

Exact location sent out via group text the night before each session.

    What to bring

General surfing equipment. Water bottle, snacks (optional), sun protection, water proof watch if you have one.

    Footage & edit

The edited video will be shared via group text once it has been uploaded to our Vimeo account. We encourage our surfers to watch over their footage and to focus on the tips provided during the class. Additionally, feel free to share our surfing footage. If you could kindly mention @noosasurfingacademy when sharing it would be appreciated.

    Squad Etiquette

We follow the World Surf League (WSL) priority system, which is widely recognised as the fairest and most respectful way to share the surf with one another. If you’re unsure about how it works or have any questions regarding it, please don’t hesitate to ask your coach and we can explain it to you in detail.

    Missed classes

Our class numbers are capped to help maintain a high level of tuition at each session so we do not offer credit for missed lessons however if you can notify us 18+ hours before missing a class we’ll try our best to get you into another class if a suitable position becomes available. Alternatively you can gift your spot to another surfer or sibling suitable for the squad who can return the favour one day.
